· Lester B. "Mike" Pearson, former Prime Minister of Canada was the federal member of parliament from October 25, 1948 until April 19, 1968.

· The T.V. show "Adventures in Rainbow Country" which ran in the early 1970's was filmed mainly in Whitefish Falls but some filming was done around Webbwood. The Shakespeare Gold Mine was the supposed location for the episode "The Kind from Spanish Harlem." This episode was about a troubled boy who ends up stuck in an abandoned mine.

· James "Rusty" Hughes who played in the early days of the NHL was born May 12, 1906 in Webbwood.

· In 1990, Roy Beaudoin published a book on Webbwood titled "Webbwood The First Hundred Years 1891 - 1991"

· James Doyle wrote "Barbara M. Hanley: First Woman Mayor in Canada" which can be found in Ontario History, Volume XXXIV, Number 2 (June 1992) p 133-140.
